We are searching for a motivated Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. The role of the Accounting Assistant involves assisting the Accounting department with data entry, processing, recording transactions and administrative tasks. You should be thorough, accurate, able to grasp complex multi-company concepts and honest with good bookkeeping skills. To be a successful Accounting Assistant, you should understand basic Accounting principles and be advanced with computers and software, such as MS Excel and QuickBooks. You should be trustworthy, efficient, organized and a team player. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing support to the Accounting Department. Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing mail, etc. Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, internal software and in-person. Processing transactions, prepare the invoices to be paid and auditing statements Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including invoices, statements, packing slips, credit card charges etc. Reconciling accounts by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances Maintaining historical records Paying vendors by scheduling checks and ensuring payment is made timely for all vendors; confirming accuracy of all vendor bills; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports Continuing to improve the payment process Handling accounts receivable by creating invoices and deposits invoices, entering payments received and reconciling statements Assist department with any projects that need completion Requirements: 2+ years accounting/bookkeeping experience. associates or bachelors degree in related field with work experience preferred. Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills. Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with basic Accounting principles. Professional manner and strong ethical code. Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive. Commitment to working efficiently and accurately. Experience with QuickBooks Advanced Microsoft Office suite experience Proficiency with Windows operating system Advanced written and oral communication skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
