Finance Manager - FP&A - Marsh What can you expect? Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is a critical component of a company’s overall business strategy. Marsh is looking for a strong Senior Financial Analyst to use their expertise to provide solid analytical support for business decisions. While this role will primarily focus on core FP&A responsibilities – forecast development, budgeting and supporting the monthly close of the general ledger – the candidate will serve as a critical liaison between finance and the business. The Finance Manager will work closely with account executives and provide information related to client trends (fee/commission prices, lost reasons, market trends, etc) to help support the firm’s strategic plans. He/she will be skilled at collaborating and comfortable delivering non-negotiable information from a policy/procedure perspective. The right person for this opportunity will possess strong communication skills and should be able to translate accounting terminology to business partners. Working with leadership will be a regular part of this role, so having a good professional presence and presentation skills will be critical. He/she will also display intellectual curiosity and should be comfortable asking tough questions to drive business behavior that is aligned with the company’s strategy. What is in it for you? Create and maintain financial models, perform variance analyses, and develop business cases to inform financial strategy. Meet with Account Owners to conduct comprehensive financial account reviews and forecasts, identify risks and opportunities and strategize on maximizing revenue in the portfolio. Manage the quarterly forecast, and annual budget process, including any required reporting for the business. Manage the monthly close process including determination of revenue recognition based on supporting documentation, perform account reconciliations and submits journal entries. Implement financial processes and systems to maximize the quality of financial reporting, analyses, budgeting, and forecasting. Works closely with other departments to produce period reporting and analysis to support the business, region and market in making informed decisions. Performs ad hoc analyses on financial data and business requests to monitor tactical decisions and enable strategic decision making.
